Tips For Making Exercise An Everyday Priority

If you’re goal is to be healthy and fit, you’ll need to incorporate physical activity into your daily regime. But finding the time to work out can be very challenging for people, especially when they already have busy lives. Work, kids and life in general can take up large amounts of time and by the end of the day, there’ s no energy left to workout out. However, it’s still important to at least get in 30 minutes of physical activity into your daily life and here are some tips on how to make it a daily priority:

Try to exercise in the morning

In order to make the most of your day, try to exercise in the morning. You’ll be able to start your day with your brain releasing endorphins, giving you loads of energy for the day ahead. Plus, you won’t be too tired at the end of the day to make an excuse as to why you can’t get in a walk, go to the gym or take a group class. Sure, you’ll have to wake up a bit earlier than you’d like, but it’ll be worth it in the end. Plus, you’ll get used to getting up earlier after doing it for about a week.

Put it in your calendar

Make an appointment in your calendar to work out each day. Schedule it in your paper planner or your phone so that you know you have to get it done just as you would any other appointment. Think of it as an appointment for your healthy that the doctor prescribed you. You’ll be more willing to exercise daily if you see it as a commitment with yourself that’s already scheduled.

Increase activity throughout your day

Try to be as active as possible throughout your day to boost activity levels. Walk when you can, take the stairs instead of the elevator, park far or do some strength exercising during breaks to get your heart pumping. Wear a fitness watch to track how many steps you’ve done and then try to beat it everyday.

Do something you like

The great thing about exercising is that it’s never boring (or it doesn’t have to be). There are so many different physical activity things you can do to get your heart rate up, so you’ll just need to find something that you love. Try a group fitness glass, sign up for boot camp, find a running group or simply walk around the block after dinner with your kids – it’s totally up to you! Find an activity that you like doing and you’ll be more motivated to continue getting in daily exercise.

Get social

You can also enlist friends and family into working out with you to make it a social event! Take a class together, ride your bikes on the weekend or head to the beach for long walks or jogs. You’ll make fitness a family affair when you get your kids into it, too! Working out with someone else helps your exercise commitment from getting stale and boring. Plus, you’ll be more motivated to do it since you’ll have someone else there pushing you. You’ll be able to hold each other accountable and find new ways to build daily exercise into your relationships.

Work out more efficiently

If you’re having trouble getting to the gym each day, find a better, more efficient way to work out that requires little preparation or equipment. Home videos are great since you simply follow along and use your body weight. Thanks to the Internet, you can even by at-home workout plans from fitness influencers that require little to no equipment. This way, you’ll be able to get in a good workout while never leaving the comforts of your own home. This is a great way to achieve your fitness goals when you have young children at home and can’t go to the gym.

Reward yourself

If you have a goal, track your progress and then reward yourself at the end! This will keep you motivated to continuing to workout daily and help you reach your fitness goals in no time!
